About the position

PEO STRI is seeking a highly skilled Test and Evaluation Engineer to support its efforts in delivering advanced simulation, testing, and training solutions for military operations. The role focuses on ensuring that mission-critical systems meet required performance standards through rigorous testing and evaluation processes, while also emphasizing network design and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead test and evaluation efforts across mission-critical systems, ensuring systems meet required performance standards.
• Implement and manage testing protocols focused on redundancy, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve network issues using state-of-the-art network monitoring tools and techniques.
• Ensure robust network security, scalability, and architecture are integrated into test and evaluation practices.
• Optimize network protocols, architectures, and configurations to ensure system efficiency, including expertise in IP addressing and subnetting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, software developers, and operations teams to develop comprehensive test strategies and evaluation plans.
• Develop detailed reports and recommendations based on test results for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with DoD security protocols and standards.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant test and evaluation experience, or 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Agile Certification (Scrum Master, Agile Practitioner, etc.) required.
• Demonstrated experience in ATEC environments, with knowledge extending beyond ATEC to broader testing methodologies.
• Proven expertise in network monitoring, performance optimization, network protocols, IP addressing, subnetting, and network security.
• Active TS-SCI clearance (mandatory).
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in high-stakes, mission-critical systems.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills for producing evaluation reports.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team, including with military personnel.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in both classified and unclassified network testing environments.
• Experience with defense-related Test & Evaluation policies and standards.
• Knowledge of automated testing tools and methods for network systems.
• Experience with the development of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test reports.
