About the position

The Test and Evaluation Lab Technician 2 position is a contract role focused on providing technician support in an aircraft production environment. The technician will work closely with production operations personnel to install various sensors and wiring onto aircraft parts and assemblies according to engineering specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical circuits and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Install a high volume of sensors and associated wiring onto aircraft parts and assemblies per engineering requirements.
• Coordinate with Instrumentation Operations Engineers and Design Build Manufacturing Engineers.
• Interpret engineering drawings and perform surface preparation, hand sanding, and cleaning.
• Handle hazardous materials such as solvents, cleaners, adhesives, and sealants.
• Perform wire fabrication, electrical terminations, soldering, crimping, and wire routing.
• Conduct continuity checks, labeling, and sealing of electrical components.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and wiring as needed.
• Work in various positions including standing, kneeling, and using mobile lift platforms.

Requirements

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with installing sensors such as Strain Gages and Accelerometers.
• Knowledge of electrical circuits and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with wire fabrication and electrical terminations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Thermocouples, RTDs, and Pressure Transducers.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
