About the position

At Travefy, we are seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. This full-time position is available in our offices located in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, as well as Pennington, New Jersey. Our mission is to empower travel professionals by providing them with innovative tools that enhance traveler experiences and help them grow their businesses. Our platform is designed for Travel Agents, Tour Operators, and other travel professionals, enabling them to create client itineraries, manage client information, and effectively market their offerings. As a Test Automation Engineer at Travefy, you will play a crucial role in our product development process. You will be responsible for designing and writing programs that automate testing for both new and existing software. Our lean team structure ensures that you will not just be a cog in the machine; instead, you will own your work stream and have ample opportunities for learning, development, and making a significant impact on our products and services. In this role, you will be tasked with writing, designing, and executing automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically. You will maximize test coverage for the most critical features of our system, determine the priority for test scenarios, and create execution plans to implement these scenarios. Additionally, you will write documentation for automated processes, including test plans, test procedures, and test cases, and provide tools for other engineers to test their own code. Logging and documenting bugs in our tracking system and setting testing standards for other engineers will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Write, design, and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically
  • Maximize test coverage for the most critical features of the system
  • Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios
  • Write documentation for automated processes including test plans, test procedures, and test cases
  • Provide other engineers with tools so they can test their own code
  • Log and document bugs in the tracking system
  • Set testing standards for other engineers

Requirements

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Javascript, Python)
  • Experience with web application testing and Continuous Integration processes
  • Familiarity with version control, defect tracking, and test management tools (GIT, Jenkins, JIRA)
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience coding at all levels of a web-app stack from the front-end JavaScript to the database
  • Ability to plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion
  • A passion for code and pride in your work
