About the position
The Test Automation Engineer will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure quality in software development by preventing defects and clarifying acceptance criteria. This role involves executing both automated and manual tests, designing automated test capabilities, and performing exploratory testing within an agile environment. The engineer will also be responsible for identifying risks, developing mitigation plans, and recommending improvements to testing processes.
Responsibilities
- Work with the team to 'build quality in' and prevent defects.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Business Analysts, Developers, and Solution Architects to clarify acceptance criteria.
- Execute automated and manual tests, and design and implement automated test capabilities.
- Perform exploratory testing and prepare for non-functional tests such as security vulnerability testing, performance, load, and latency testing.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation plans while gaining consensus on the test approach.
- Make recommendations for improving the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of testing activities and processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Test Automation Engineer utilizing Harness and Ansible, PowerShell for scripting on Microsoft stack.
- Extensive experience working with cross-functional teams to understand solution requirements and clarify acceptance criteria.
- Experience in building and executing automated and manual tests, and performing exploratory testing.
- Extensive experience in non-functional testing preparation and execution, including security vulnerability, performance, load, and latency testing.
- Experience in estimation methods, test planning, and execution.
- Bachelor's degree required; relevant work experience may substitute for degree.
