About the position

Geode Capital Management, LLC is seeking a Test Automation Engineer (TAE) who will work within the Quality Chapter to contribute to the development of a plan to integrate automated testing within the testing process at Geode. The TAE will participate in the evaluation of tools and technology for automation that best fits the organization and its projects. This role involves creating an approach and methodology for building a test automation architecture, designing and developing new or modified test automation solutions that meet business needs, and enabling the transition of testing from a manual to an automated approach. Additionally, the TAE will be responsible for creating automated test reporting and metrics collection, as well as managing and optimizing testing assets to facilitate maintainability and address evolving test systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a close-knit team that is growing and maturing. The TAE will have the chance to work cross-functionally to improve a legacy system while modernizing the product, tech stack, tools, and processes, and creating internal standards. The role is hybrid, requiring in-office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work available on Mondays and Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing and maintaining test automation solutions
  • Automate dynamic, functional tests
  • Contribute to organizational and/or project Test Automation Strategy
  • Primarily focus on repeatable tasks within the SUT or project and designing an automation framework to support
  • Maximize test coverage for the most critical features of the SUT or project
  • Write documentation for automated processes
  • Build test automation frameworks
  • Participate in and contribute to defect management process
  • Work cross collaboratively on CI/CD pipelines
  • Conduct exploratory testing as needed and/or required

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of testing
  • In-depth understanding of test automation
  • Ability to influence the direction that an organization/project takes when designing, developing and maintaining test automation solutions for functional tests
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Technical Skills: Python, Java, SQL and Linux
  • Analytical Skills: Prioritize overall needs of the organization or project to determine the biggest value of what can be automated
  • Communication Skills: Effectively collaborate with stakeholders to ensure common alignment on objectives, functions, goals, and reporting

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with asset management, trading or portfolio management platforms
  • Experience with AWS
  • 7+ years of experience in test automation

  • Experience with RestAssured, Playwright, Selenium
