About the position

Akkodis is seeking a Test Automation Engineer for a contract position in San Francisco, CA. The role focuses on creating and customizing software tools to meet client requirements, performing network audits, and managing capacity and asset management. The ideal candidate will have expertise in IP networking and automation, with a strong background in scripting and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Create and customize software tools to meet specific client requirements.
• Perform network audits for capacity and asset management.
• Provide subject matter expertise in IP Networking/Routing & Switching (TCP/IP, IPv4/v6, BGP, EVPN/Vxlan).
• Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP).
• Analyze tactical situations and troubleshoot systems and tools.
• Manage the release life cycle with software development and CI/CD processes.
• Work in a multi-vendor environment with networking hardware.
• Utilize scripting and automation languages like Python, bash, thrift, protobuf, and golang.
• Debug and root cause server issues on Linux-based systems.
• Work with public cloud environments and utilize python scripting/ansible for automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 1-3 years of experience in software automation, scripting, or network engineering.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Golang.
• Experience with network infrastructure, particularly IP networking and cloud environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Network certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, RHCSA or equivalent experience.
• Experience with 100G/400G Ethernet.
• Ability to read code as source documentation.
• DevOps CI/CD mindset for automation and scale.
