About the position

As a Test Automation Engineer at whiteSpace, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of software projects delivered to clients. This position emphasizes collaboration, quality assurance, and the development of automated testing suites, all within a remote-first culture that values human-centered solutions and social good.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members on creating optimal tests.
  • Advise project teams on testing needs during requirements gathering.
  • Conduct quality assurance for software development projects.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing suites that can be run locally and in CI/CD environments.
  • Determine appropriate test data for a given testing requirement.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Java development experience and/or experience developing tests for Java-based applications.
  • 3+ years of experience conducting quality assurance for software development, developing and maintaining automated testing suites, writing code-based tests in various environments, and integrating and using current testing tools and technologies.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment, collaborating with designers, business analysts, back-end developers, and others.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and obtain certifications.
  • An active Public Trust Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the most current testing and automation technologies for software quality assurance and the ability to evaluate new testing tools.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, etc.), HTML, and CSS development.
  • 1+ years of experience with a public cloud platform (AWS).
  • Familiarity/experience with Cypress, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Maven, Gradle, REST Assured, Karate, etc.
