About the position

The Test Automation Hardware Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing automated test systems for downhole MWD/LWD tools. This role involves troubleshooting and providing electrical support for test hardware, ensuring the reliability and functionality of electronic systems through rigorous testing and validation processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement automated test systems using Python or C#.
• Design test systems for various testing needs.
• Support prototype building and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze and develop test plans and procedures for qualification and acceptance processes.
• Prepare test setups, perform system integration, and conduct design verification and validation.
• Monitor and evaluate waveforms and signals in real time, performing typical signal analyses.
• Create test plans, functional verification, and conduct reliability testing.

Requirements

• Experience in test program development and automation testing.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics, including components such as batteries, inductors, transformers, capacitors, A/D & D/A converters, and processor-based architecture.
• Proficient in troubleshooting electronics hardware and providing design solutions for electronic systems.
• Experience interfacing with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and current/voltage meters using Python or LabVIEW.
• Ability to create and execute test plans for qualification and acceptance processes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with power electronics circuits testing and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with downhole MWD/LWD tools.
