About the position

The Software Quality Test Development Engineer position at NVIDIA involves developing exploratory and automated tests to ensure high product standards across the automotive software stack. The role requires collaboration with software development and hardware deployment teams to enhance test execution efficiency and involves crafting detailed test plans and conducting regression testing on automotive hardware platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and define detailed, effective, comprehensive, well-structured test plans and test cases based on feature sets and requirements.
  • Review and provide recommendations on product feature requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to ensure satisfactory test coverage.
  • Align with software development and hardware deployment to streamline test execution efficiency using custom-built test scripts and applications.
  • Complete daily software regression testing on automotive hardware platform configurations to ensure functional quality and stability.
  • Report the overall status and determine if the integrity of the software meets pre-conditioned guidelines before release execution.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven ability to write logical code from scratch, preferably in Python.
  • Strong experience with Linux and/or QNX.
  • Experience using source control systems such as Git and Perforce.
  • Familiarity with working in a shell environment.
  • Good hardware, software, and operating system fundamentals.
  • Ability to work hands-on with embedded computer hardware, like cameras and other sensors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in test infrastructure and analysis skills.
  • C/C++ coding at software API and application level.
  • Knowledge of other embedded operating systems, like Android Auto.
  • PC Graphics and/or multimedia test experience.
  • Experience using tools like Jira and Jama.
