About the position

As a Test Engineer at Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), you will play a crucial role in simulating, testing, certifying, and improving advanced products and services across various domains, including aerospace and defense. This position involves developing complex test plans and procedures to ensure the verification and validation of product requirements, while utilizing top industry tools to execute tests. You will work as a cross-functional engineer, testing new products and developing innovative test processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Simulate, test, certify, and improve cutting-edge products and services.
  • Develop complex test plans and procedures for various systems.
  • Execute tests using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
  • Test system and component level new products.
  • Develop new test processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience in engineering or related field.
  • Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
  • Knowledge of requirements management, system design, and systems integration.
  • Experience with planning, conducting, and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) Testing.
  • Experience troubleshooting RF assemblies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies including manual and automated testing.
  • Ability to prepare complex and professional test plans, procedures, and reports to demonstrate compliance with system requirements.
  • Familiarity with Product and Quality Assurance principles and experience in managing product non-conformances.
  • Experience performing certification testing for organizations like FAA, NASA, or DoD.
  • Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, and apply logical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
