Under limited supervision, the Test Engineer I is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining test procedures, tester hardware, and software for electronic circuit board production. This role involves reviewing circuit board designs for testability requirements, supporting manufacturing with failure analysis, and preparing recommendations for testing and documentation of procedures from the product design phase through to initial production. The Test Engineer I will generate reports and analysis of test data, prepare documentation and recommendations, and review test equipment designs and data with customers regularly. The position also requires directing and coordinating engineering activities related to the development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments and equipment required to test, record, and reduce test data. The Test Engineer I will determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted, direct and exercise control over operational, functional, and performance phases of tests, and analyze and interpret test data to prepare technical reports for use by test engineering and management personnel. Additionally, the role may involve developing or using computer software and hardware to conduct tests on machinery and equipment, performing semi-routine technique development and maintenance, and providing training in new procedures to production testing staff. Adherence to all safety and health rules and regulations is essential, as well as compliance with company security policies.
