About the position

The Test Engineer in Data is responsible for validating functional requirements within the Finance and Treasury sectors, focusing on regulatory reporting test scenarios. This hybrid role involves both on-site and remote work, requiring strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and compliance throughout the ETL lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Understand functional requirements for Finance, Treasury, and banking regulatory reporting test scenarios.
• Create use cases, user stories, and test scripts for functional requirements validations.
• Define testing phase entrance and exit criteria.
• Facilitate environment readiness validation including connectivity, test data, and user access.
• Coordinate and oversee validation of end-to-end business and system processes from sourcing to reporting.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute non-functional testing, system integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Communicate test plans, progress, issues, and risks to key project stakeholders.
• Conduct requirements traceability and gap analysis.
• Diagnose problems and report defects while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive data.
• Implement regression test suites for ETL pipelines to enable continuous integration and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and define test strategies.
• Mentor junior testers and guide teams in best practices for ETL testing.
• Manage QA activities to ensure alignment with project timelines and maintain quality standards.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in automation and manual positive & negative testing, adopting best practices for functional and system integration testing.
• 5+ years of experience in testing and validating large volumes of data in data warehouses, ensuring data quality and transformation accuracy.
• 5+ years of experience with Snowflake features such as SnowPipe or SnowSQL, including writing and testing complex SQL queries or Python code.
• 5+ years of experience creating automation test suites using SQL, Python, and pytest framework.
• 5+ years of experience with test management tools like QTest and JIRA.
• 3+ years of banking experience with strong documentation of test evidence for compliance and regulatory audit needs.
