About the position

Yoh is seeking a Test Engineer to join our Biotech/Pharma client in their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Pleasanton, CA. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and testing of new products, working closely with design engineering and product management teams to ensure the successful release of innovative solutions. This position requires a strong background in engineering, specifically in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing disciplines, with a focus on new product introduction (NPI). The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's/PhD with 5-7 years of experience in a similar role. In this role, the Test Engineer will be responsible for interfacing with design engineering to provide design for manufacturability (DFM) feedback during the design phase. The engineer will also design and develop manufacturing test fixtures as required, ensuring that all testing processes are efficient and effective. Proactive communication of technical information and project status to cross-functional teams is essential, as is the development and refinement of acceptance test processes and specifications for complex electromechanical subsystems. The Test Engineer will collaborate with manufacturing, research and development (R&D), and contract manufacturers to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. The position is a 12-month contract, offering a competitive hourly wage based on experience, and provides an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment within the biotech industry.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with design engineering and Product Management to coordinate the release of new products.
  • Provide DFM/A feedback during the design phase in collaboration with design engineering.
  • Design and develop manufacturing test fixtures as required.
  • Communicate technical information and project status to cross-functional teams proactively.
  • Develop and refine acceptance test processes and specifications for complex electromechanical subsystems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing with 7+ years of experience, or MS/PhD with 5-7 years of experience.
  • Experience with several successful iterations of Design to Manufacturing transfers.
  • Creation of FMEAs, ECOs, and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of motor (e.g., servo, stepper), PCA, and subassembly testing.
  • Experience working with instrument manufacturing under ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 standards.
  • Experience with Altium, Python, and SDK development.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Labview, and MES systems is a plus.
