About the position
The Test Engineer (RCS) position at Reliance Test & Technology, LLC involves managing and executing test programs related to Radar Cross Section (RCS) and antenna testing. The role requires strong teamwork and communication skills to facilitate programmatic interchanges with customers, as well as in-depth knowledge of systems engineering processes. The Test Engineer will be responsible for developing radar signal processing strategies, coordinating test schedules, and acting as a liaison between various stakeholders to ensure successful test program execution.
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and execute Radar Cross Section (RCS) and Antenna test programs.
- Generate schedules and resource requirements for test programs.
- Develop radar signal processing strategies and perform necessary signal processing and measurement quality assessments.
- Coordinate test schedules and mitigate issues that arise during testing.
- Act as the interface between the customer, the Air Force Program Office (AFPO) Test manager, and in-house support.
- Liaise with RT&T Engineering and AFPO Test and Engineering Branch chief for future test program requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Math, or an Engineering Discipline.
- 0-8 years' experience in a relevant field.
- Specialization in microwave signature characterization and diagnoses of test targets.
- Knowledge in physics, electromagnetics, radio frequency (RF) propagation, RF hardware, signal processing, statistics, and scientific computing.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, MathCAD, and Python scientific programming language.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with electromagnetic propagation theory and concepts.
- Familiarity with statistical evaluation data and numerical methods.
