GovCIO is currently seeking a Test Engineer to support the VRE PSES contract. This full-time, fully remote position is designed for an individual who can provide comprehensive testing support using various tools to ensure that high-quality products are delivered to our VA customer. The Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment to ensure that products perform to specifications. This includes planning and arranging the necessary labor, schedules, and equipment for testing and evaluating products. The role involves creating test cases for test plans and developing test scenarios in which tests are executed. The Test Engineer will compile data, define required changes, and report any defects or problems that arise during the testing process. Participation in product walkthroughs is also expected, and automated testing may be utilized based on the discretion of the hiring manager. Collaboration with the development and requirements teams is essential to coordinate and test applications effectively. The Test Engineer will perform analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products, developing testing procedures as needed. Responsibilities also include developing test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests. The implementation of testing processes and ensuring adherence to these processes is crucial, along with producing reports on each test activity and tracking test metrics. The position requires manual and automated testing of integrations, interfaces, data transfers, and APIs, as well as testing web services using tools like Ready API, Postman, Wave, and AMP. The Test Engineer will manage the end-to-end software testing life cycle, including defect logging and verification of defect closure, as well as conducting root cause analysis. Functional testing, including system, regression, and user acceptance testing, is also a key responsibility. Database testing using SQL queries and simple scripts is required, along with a thorough understanding of integration requirements and mapping to user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases. Utilizing Jira for maintaining sprint test artifacts and X-RAY for test execution is expected, along with analyzing test results, managing defects, and maintaining the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM). Experience with AWS Cloud and exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, and GitHub is also beneficial. Proactive communication and coordination with various internal and external project stakeholders are essential, as well as possessing strong analytical and investigation skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
