About the position

The Test Engineer position at Coherent involves conducting hands-on testing and characterization of silicon photonic IC components and subsystems. The role requires performing chip-level optical alignment and corresponding optical/electrical testing, as well as supporting wafer-level testing. The engineer will program testing procedures using Python or other computer languages, operate and maintain optical and electrical test setups and equipment, and support test data processing and documentation. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Industry background with 1 year+ working experience, lab experience preferred.
  • Strong coding ability with Python or other computer languages.
  • Hands-on experience with fiber, optical and electrical test equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in material management and handling fine materials.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
