About the position

The Test Engineer position involves acting as a Test Conductor/Director for air vehicle testing, focusing on the development and execution of test procedures for various aircraft systems. The role requires hands-on experience with specialized test equipment and the ability to troubleshoot aircraft sub-systems, ensuring compliance with airworthiness requirements. This is a contract position based in Palmdale, CA, requiring a Secret Clearance and offering a competitive hourly wage.

Responsibilities

• Acting as Test Conductor/Director for air vehicle testing.
• Authoring air vehicle system test procedures and plans.
• Identifying and operating specialized test equipment.
• Installing and integrating wire harnesses and interconnects.
• Developing testing setups with minimal direction.
• Testing and troubleshooting aircraft sub-systems such as fuel systems, pumps, valves, actuators, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Authoring air vehicle sub-system test procedures and work instructions for validation and airworthiness compliance.
• Gaining experience with aircraft sub-systems assembly and vehicle integration operations.
• Utilizing hands-on experience with test equipment and vehicle Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

Requirements

• Experience as a Test Conductor/Director for air vehicle testing.
• Proficiency in authoring test procedures for air vehicle systems.
• Ability to identify and operate specialized test equipment.
• Experience with wire harness and interconnect installation/integration.
• Capability to develop testing setups with little direction.
• Experience in testing and troubleshooting aircraft sub-systems.
• Hands-on experience with pneumatic test equipment, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
• Familiarity with vehicle Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Knowledge of typical Flight Line operations and ground support activities.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with jet engine integration and service/maintenance.
• Ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Experience in development/prototype/first article program support.
• Knowledge of regression testing during air vehicle rework or maintenance.
• Experience testing prototype air vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of all phases of manufacturing.
• Previous role as a Manufacturing Engineer.
• Experience with 3DX and Catia V5 software.
• STEM degree.
