About the position

The Test Engineer at Freudenberg-NOK General Partnership is responsible for developing and implementing test procedures to evaluate product performance and quality. This role involves conducting tests, analyzing data, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to enhance product quality and testing efficiency. The Test Engineer will also support quality assurance efforts and maintain testing equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and establish test protocols and procedures to evaluate the performance and quality of products.
  • Set up and conduct tests on production materials, components, and finished products.
  • Calibrate test equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability of testing data.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Generate detailed test reports and documentation to track performance, troubleshoot issues, and support product development.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, product quality, and process reliability.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions for any test-related issues.
  • Investigate and diagnose product failures and production issues, coordinating with other departments to resolve problems quickly and minimize downtime.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to align testing procedures with quality objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade testing equipment and instruments as needed.
  • Ensure all test equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and equipment calibration logs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Test Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in test equipment and software, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization software is a plus.
