About the position

The Test Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality, reliability, and user experience of software developed for High Profile Airborne Communication Systems and Platforms in support of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. This position involves rigorous testing of software and hardware, collaborating with various engineering teams, and automating continuous security and performance testing. The engineer will create test plans, execute test cases, document results, and communicate defects to the development team, contributing to the overall quality of the software solutions developed for national defense.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with software developers, engineers, and project leads to evaluate software for airborne communication systems.
  • Create test plans and test cases based on user stories.
  • Implement automated and manual testing processes to observe software performance.
  • Document test results and communicate defects to the development team.
  • Automate continuous security and performance testing of custom developed software.
  • Monitor the health of software systems and provide on-site support as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in manual testing of software systems and hardware components.
  • Experience with test or project management software suites such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
  • Knowledge of military or government regulations for testing and test documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with development and engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Ability to develop or execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Ability to identify, document, and track defects and issues.
  • Ability to prepare detailed test reports and documentation.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT or Engineering field.
  • Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification within 6 months of start date.
