About the position

As an Automotive Test Engineer, you will engage in a variety of different types of system and component level testing, including fatigue testing, ultimate strength, NVH testing and other types of testing and have to be able to coordinate work with other departments and present test results. You will be working on test standards, test bench design, process optimization, and are responsible for maintenance and calibration of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and execute tests for product validation, determine test goals, work out test procedure, record and document test results.
  • Complete test requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Improvement and development of test benches and fixtures.
  • Discuss and support projects with customers and suppliers.
  • Conduct testing according to test bench schedule to assure on time completion.
  • Cooperate and communicate with the engineering department and external/internal customers.
  • Present test results internally and to customers.
  • Warrant the operational readiness and proper function of test equipment (maintenance and calibration of test equipment).
  • Create and modify test standards and work instructions.
  • Ensure the timely completion of test documentation.
  • Consider all technical requirements, quality requirements and costs when performing tests.
  • Secure, maintain and optimize processes within test center.
  • Ensure that accident prevention, regulations, and work safety requirements are met at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness, order and working discipline within area of responsibility.
  • Other duties and responsibilities can be assigned based on individual competencies and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of subject-specific experience required.
  • Previous automotive engineering experience in NVH, Dynamometer, Lab and/or Safety.
  • Solid technical skills in the field of engineering testing.
  • Experience in data acquisition and processing technique.
  • Working experience with vehicle testing and development.
  • Knowledge of automotive wiring and connectors.
  • Automotive related background.
  • Basic Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.

Nice-to-haves

  • Product knowledge and familiarity.
  • Automotive testing experience as a Tier 1 supplier.
  • Experience with IATF / ISO standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics.
  • Drivetrain testing related to automotive industry.
  • Knows how to operate a fork lift.
