About the position

We are seeking a dynamic Software Test Engineer to join our fast-paced team in Denver, CO. This role focuses on providing quality assurance through the writing and execution of manual and automated regression tests. The Test Engineer will support the developer team by testing new software and assisting customers with troubleshooting, ensuring reliable product performance. The position involves collaboration with operational users to design and maintain capabilities that empower analysts in national security missions, utilizing AWS cloud environments and modern software development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Test JavaScript/Node.js components and RESTful APIs.
  • Query geospatial data from ESRI or OAPIs.
  • Utilize ArcGIS Enterprise Suite and ArcMap or ArcPro.
  • Document existing test capabilities, performance, and needs.
  • Collaborate with other testers, developers, and the operations integration team.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, maintaining composure during challenging discussions.
  • Explore innovative ways to enhance test performance and coverage.
  • Write and run automated back-end tests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in software test engineering.
  • Experience with various aspects of software development: infrastructure, design, development, test/QA, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Organized and capable of documenting test capabilities, performance, and needs.
  • Security+ Certification (or obtained within the first six months of employment).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and working on an Agile development program.
  • Proficiency with test automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments.
  • Bash scripting skills.
  • Experience with AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, Document-Oriented Data Stores (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr), Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and OWMS/WFS, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, RESTful APIs, and Git.
