About the position

Scientific Research Corporation is seeking a Test Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. This position is critical in ensuring the operational functionality of software releases by focusing on all aspects of quality assurance, technical design analysis, and developing and creating test plans. The Test Engineer will be responsible for conducting automated test cases and test events for product features, ensuring that all software applications meet the highest standards of quality before they are released. The ideal candidate will work closely with NIWC stakeholders, development, and support teams to ensure comprehensive testing is conducted in an Agile fashion. This includes decomposing system-level requirements into comprehensive test cases and test routines, as well as developing and executing test plans based on established system requirements and use cases. The Test Engineer will also be responsible for developing test reports that outline test results, defects, and regression test requirements, and entering defects and software problem reports into the applicable tracking system for escalation and remediation. This role requires a strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies, as well as familiarity with modem cybersecurity and cloud computing. Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance and be U.S. citizens, as this position requires access to classified information. Responsibilities

  • Ensures the operational functionality of software releases by focusing on all aspects of quality assurance, technical design analysis, developing and creating test plans, and automated test cases as well conducting test events for product features.
  • Works with NIWC stakeholders, development and support teams to ensure comprehensive (both automated and manual) testing is conducted in an Agile fashion.
  • Decomposes system level requirements into comprehensive test cases and test routines.
  • Develops and executes test plans and test cases based on established system requirements and use cases.
  • Develops test reports outlining test results, defects and regression test requirements.
  • Enters defects and software problem reports into the applicable tracking system for escalation/remediation.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
  • Seven or more (7+) years' experience with software testing and quality assurance in the development of software applications.
  • Understands software development and testing methodologies.
  • Detailed understanding of how to properly document test cases and create effective and focused test plans/procedures.
  • Must be familiar with modem cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing.
