About the position

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that products meet the rigorous standards required in the aerospace sector. This includes conducting various tests such as EMI testing, which encompasses radiated and conducted emissions and susceptibility, as well as electrical power quality and transients. Additionally, you will perform environmental tests that assess the product's performance under temperature variations, shock, and vibration conditions. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the high quality and reliability expected in aerospace applications. The role requires a proactive approach to writing detailed test plans and procedures in accordance with industry standards such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461. You will also need to define the necessary support equipment for conducting tests, which may include wiring harnesses, electrical interfaces, vibration fixtures, and instrumentation. Planning and conducting tests, evaluating results, and presenting data to customers and management are key components of this position. Effective communication with Engineering Managers and Program Managers regarding testing status is essential, as is the coordination of test witnessing and schedules with customers and test facilities. You will also supervise outside laboratory tests and be responsible for writing comprehensive test reports.

Responsibilities

  • Write detailed test plans and procedures per RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461
  • Define required support equipment necessary to conduct tests such as wiring harnesses, electrical interfaces, vibration fixtures, instrumentation, etc.
  • Plan and conduct tests as well as evaluate test results
  • Collect and analyze data in an organized manner that can be presented to customers and management
  • Communicate with Engineering Managers and Program Managers on testing status
  • Coordinate test witnessing and schedules with customers and test facilities
  • Supervise outside laboratory tests
  • Write test reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required
  • Three years of related experience required
