The position involves engaging in the setup and process readiness of manufacturing processes, including equipment & tooling, while ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards. The role requires a foundational understanding of electronics principles and manufacturing services processes, executing standard engineering projects and tasks, including prototype projects, and performing routine technical work within the engineering team, ensuring compliance with quality standards and that products meet customer required specifications and standards. The position also involves documenting manufacturing processes and procedures, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, supporting troubleshooting and repair of products, collaborating effectively within the engineering team, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Engages in the setup and process readiness of manufacturing processes, including equipment & tooling.
• Demonstrates a foundational understanding of electronics principles and manufacturing services processes.
• Executes standard engineering projects and tasks, including prototype projects.
• Performs routine technical work within the engineering team, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Documents manufacturing processes and procedures, ensuring accurate records.
• Maintains and troubleshoots equipment, tools, and tooling necessary for electronic manufacturing processes.
• Supports troubleshooting and repair of products.
• Collaborates effectively within the engineering team and with 3rd party partners.
• Supports continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on existing processes.
• Supports root cause corrective and preventive actions.
• May provide guidance to interns and/or technicians.
• Executes Test engineering tasks under the direction of the Test Engineering team.
• Reads wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units.
• Provides test station build support and assists in the development of testing procedures.
• Assists in the design and implementation of test fixtures and setups.
• Participates in the troubleshooting and calibration of test equipment.
• Collaborates with the test engineering team to improve test strategies.
• Provides training and support to technicians in the use of test equipment.
• Performs Design for Test analysis with cross-functional teams.
• Analyzes electronic and electromechanical assemblies to determine cause of product defects.
• Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyzes data to identify and resolve systemic issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Mechatronic, or other relevant discipline) or equivalent industry or military training experience.
• New graduates or candidates with up to 4 years of engineering support experience in electronics manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to interpret a variety of technical documents such as wiring diagrams and drawings.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards such as ISO9001/13485 or AS9100.
• Understanding of New Product Introduction concepts.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Capacity to learn and apply new skills in a dynamic manufacturing services environment.
• Awareness of IPC standards, Lean principles, six sigma, and industrial ergonomics preferred.
• Proficient in using Computer systems and knowledge of CAD/CAM and programming preferred.
