About the position

General Dynamics Tallahassee Operations is seeking a Test Engineer who will play a crucial role in analyzing electronic circuits and supporting a growing electronics production line. The ideal candidate will possess quantifiable experience in a manufacturing or production environment. As a Test Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include analyzing product requirements, validating test parameters, creating customized quality checks, and documenting final test procedures. You will interface with Design Test Engineering staff to resolve design issues and develop troubleshooting procedures for Test Technicians, providing training as necessary. Additionally, you will investigate and respond to out-of-tolerance tooling notifications to define and mitigate risks. Evaluating test data, identifying performance trends, and initiating improvement activities will also be part of your responsibilities. You will revise work instructions as required and interface with internal and external departments, customers, and suppliers. Conducting quality assurance and designing performance tests using verified test procedures will be critical to your success in this position. Moreover, you will be responsible for troubleshooting errors, streamlining testing procedures, and ensuring that all tests and procedures meet company and industry standards. Training the quality assurance staff and providing technical support when needed will also be part of your duties. You will document and monitor testing outcomes, establish steps to remedy problems, and analyze current technologies used within the company to develop processes that improve testing procedures. Tracking and improving product yields through continuous improvement efforts, including proper project documentation, will be essential to your role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team structure and independently with little supervision.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot advanced electronics.
  • Familiarity with current computer applications and fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems requiring professional engineering knowledge.
  • Familiarity with the use and operation of various types of test and measurement equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, and bus analyzers.
