About the position

The Test Engineering Technician at Jabil is responsible for developing and maintaining test procedures for electronic circuit production in a server manufacturing environment. This role requires a self-directed individual who can troubleshoot hardware and software issues, build testers and fixtures, and support continuous improvement efforts within the operations team.

Responsibilities

• Build testers, fixtures, and environmental test chambers to specification standards.
• Assist in the development of automated test scripts using scripting languages.
• Monitor system operations during testing cycles and document any errors encountered.
• Repair testers and fixtures according to the fault logging and downtime system.
• Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to minimize reoccurrence of failures.
• Document all repairs and improvements on test equipment.
• Monitor testers for intermittencies and reduce them according to set targets.
• Support Operations and Test Engineers in continuous improvement efforts and promote a 'Quality First' mentality.
• Maintain the component programming facility and label printing equipment, ensuring compliance with ISO requirements.
• Schedule and execute maintenance on test equipment according to standards.
• Develop a preventative maintenance program for test equipment.
• Control and maintain the part numbering system for all test equipment and establish min/max levels for spares.

Requirements

• At least 1+ years of experience troubleshooting at the component level using schematics or hardware specifications.
• Proficiency with scripting languages, Linux, and hardware/network troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of computer hardware components and ability to diagnose and repair issues in a server manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and geometry.
• Effective communication skills to present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficient in operating a personal computer with a Windows-based operating system and related software.
• Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and comprehend visual aids.
• Ability to follow simple instructions and deal with standardized situations.
