About the position

The Test Manager / Lead position is responsible for delivering technically complex solutions and providing system integration support for various projects. This role involves consulting with business product owners to understand project goals and offering solutions during the design phase. The position requires leading the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of complex solutions while ensuring adherence to company standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop customized coding and software integration, perform analysis, and configure solutions using project-specific tools.
  • Lead and participate in the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of complex solutions, ensuring robust unit testing and support for release testing.
  • Build non-functional monitoring capabilities and provide escalated support for complex applications in production.
  • Implement and maintain security controls and monitoring in accordance with company standards.
  • Lead moderately complex projects and participate in larger initiatives.
  • Solve complex technical and operational problems, acting as a resource for less experienced teammates.
  • Oversee the work of a small team as needed.
  • In an Agile environment, deliver high-quality working software, automate tasks, and engage with the business from the design phase.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and four to seven years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training.
  • In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to implement IT best practices.
  • Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to IT.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems using best practices.
  • Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree in Computer Science, math, or related field of study.
  • Knowledge of specific applications, technology platforms, programming languages, systems, or business segments.
  • Banking or financial services experience.
  • Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Experience building high-quality apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level.
  • Experience with Open Source tools and frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of SOA and/or Open API methodologies and service architectures.
  • Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling).
  • Experience with messaging systems (i.e., MQ and JMS).
  • Experience with build tools, such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
