About the position
Canvas is seeking a full-time experienced Test Manager to perform Directed Energy (DE) testing support for High Power Microwaves (HPM) and High Energy Lasers (HEL) platforms. The role involves coordinating personnel transitions, executing test campaigns, providing technical writing support, and serving as a mentor for new hires, all under the guidance of the OL-AA Director at Kirtland AFB, NM.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating an AFTC directed shift of OL-AA personnel to HELSTF onboard WSMR.
- Executing Test Organization (ETO) for the USAF Life Cycle Management Center (LCMC) Directed Energy Prototype campaign, including Phase 2 testing.
- Providing technical writing support for the USAF Strategic Development Planning and Experimentation (SDPE) Experiment 1 (counter UAS) effort.
- Acting as the technical and test lead for the Directed Energy portion of SDPE Experiment 2 (counter cruise missile).
- Serving as a training and transition mentor to new hire personnel.
Requirements
- A Master's Degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Working knowledge of Directed Energy systems.
- Familiarity with High Power Lasers (HPL) and High Power Microwaves (HPM) technology.
- Ability to work within specific procedures and processes of the Air Force Test Center and DoD regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities.
- Dedication to achieving the mission of the DE CTF and high standards of quality and excellence.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
