About the position
Canvas is seeking a full-time experienced Test Manager to provide Directed Energy (DE) testing support for High Power Microwaves (HPM) and High Energy Lasers (HEL) platforms. This role involves coordinating personnel transitions, executing test campaigns, and providing technical support for various USAF initiatives, all under the guidance of the OL-AA Director. The Test Manager will also mentor new hires and ensure high standards of quality and excellence in all duties.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating an AFTC directed shift of OL-AA personnel to HELSTF onboard WSMR.
- Executing Test Organization (ETO) for the USAF Life Cycle Management Center (LCMC) Directed Energy Prototype campaign, including Phase 2 testing.
- Providing technical writing support to the USAF Strategic Development Planning and Experimentation (SDPE) Experiment 1 effort.
- Serving as the technical and test lead for the Directed Energy portion of SDPE Experiment 2.
- Mentoring new hire personnel, particularly NH03 test Engineer and NH04 Director.
Requirements
- A Master's Degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Working knowledge of Direct Energy systems.
- Familiarity with HPL and HPM technology.
- Ability to work within specific procedures and processes of the Air Force Test Center and DoD regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities.
- Dedication to achieving the mission of the DE CTF and high standards of quality and excellence.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
