About the position

The Test Manager at Canvas will oversee DE testing support for High Power Microwaves (HPM) and High Energy Lasers (HEL) platforms. This role involves coordinating personnel shifts, executing test campaigns, providing technical writing support, and leading testing efforts for various experiments. The Test Manager will also mentor new hires and ensure adherence to Air Force and DoD regulations while maintaining high standards of quality and excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating an AFTC directed shift of OL-AA personnel to HELSTF onboard WSMR.
  • Executing Test Organization (ETO) for the USAF Life Cycle Management Center (LCMC) Directed Energy Prototype campaign, including Phase 2 testing.
  • Providing technical writing support for the USAF Strategic Development Planning and Experimentation (SDPE) Experiment 1 (counter UAS) effort.
  • Serving as the technical and test lead for the Directed Energy portion of SDPE Experiment 2 (counter cruise missile).
  • Mentoring new hire personnel, particularly NH03 test Engineer and NH04 Director.

Requirements

  • A Master's Degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Working knowledge of Direct Energy systems.
  • Familiarity with HPL and HPM technology.
  • Ability to work within specific procedures and processes of the Air Force Test Center and DoD regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities.
  • Dedication to achieving the mission of the DE CTF and high standards of quality and excellence.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
