About the position
Summit Educational Group is seeking part-time test prep tutors to provide in-home, one-on-one, and in-school group classes in Hartford and New Haven counties. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and enjoy helping students achieve their academic goals. Tutors will receive paid training to enhance their knowledge of the SAT and ACT, along with pedagogical strategies to cater to diverse learning needs. This position offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to work with a varying number of students each week.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions for SAT and ACT preparation.
- Develop personalized learning plans based on individual student needs.
- Utilize pedagogical strategies to engage students effectively.
- Stay updated on changes to SAT and ACT formats and content.
- Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding progress and strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Access to reliable transportation for traveling to students' homes.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on student schedules.
Nice-to-haves
- Teaching or tutoring experience is welcomed but not required.
- Experience working with students with Learning Differences is a plus.
