This position is 100% on site in McKinney, TX. We have an exciting opportunity for a position of Test Software Engineer II located onsite in McKinney, TX. The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) organization within RTX drives business success by providing a variety of critical engineering services across product lines and functions. This position is focused on the development, integration, test, and maintenance of software as a part of on-site factory support of test systems to support product testing. The selected candidate will develop applications, libraries, and instrument drivers using the software style, development language, and integrated development environment specified by the organization. The selected candidate will contribute to multidiscipline engineering teams. Typical work involves the development of both engineering and production test equipment, environments, and systems. As such, the candidate will contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development for Raytheon test products. They will be expected to act, either as a part of their team or independently, to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test systems. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ATE (Automated Test Equipment) test software for a factory/production environment which exercises and analyzes hardware deliverable products.
  • Support Cradle to grave efforts including requirements, design, integration, validation, verification, and maintenance for all test software activities.
  • Prioritize, handle, and lead multiple tasks in a production environment.
  • Troubleshooting software and hardware for test equipment development.
  • Communication with an engineering team, functional and program leadership.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with software applications using C, C+, C#, or other test software programming languages.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing automated test stations/systems.
  • Experience developing and integrating software applications.
  • Development and maintenance experience with ATE Graphical User Interface (GUI) and/or Test Program Set (TPS) test software.
  • Strong technical writing skills and an ability to collaborate with a cross functional team of professionals.
  • Ability to interface ATE test software with laboratory and production tests instrumentation such as but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, and/or direct current power supplies.
  • Understanding of ATE test software requirements, design, implementation, integration, validation, and verification process events.
  • Knowledge of software Configuration Management environments such as Git/Github.
  • Experience with Agile environments for software development.
  • Experience with cross-platform tool Software development supporting Windows and Linux OS.
  • Experience with Wind River vxWorks, Linux Embedded OS.
  • Experience with file transfer protocol (FTP) and data transfer between Unit Under Test and test set computer for Software/Firmware loading as well as data captures.
  • Knowledge of FPGA code development.
  • Experience with Wind River Workbench, Wind River Tornado, Xilinx Vivado, and Xilinx SDK.
  • Knowledge of Wind River Tool Exchange (WTX) and Target Connection Framework (TCF) interfaces.
  • Experience with JTAG interfaces and tools for Software, Firmware, and Board Support Package (BSP) programming.
