About the position

Teledyne Marine, a division of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in conducting procedural tests on production, engineering, and qualification products. This role is crucial in ensuring that all incoming materials meet customer need dates and adhere to our high-quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and utilizing various electrical, mechanical, and optical test equipment, as well as test fixtures and procedures. A solid foundation in basic electronics and electrical theories, particularly Ohm's law, is essential for troubleshooting setup and product issues with minimal engineering support. In this position, you will maintain security for all quality verification equipment and oversee its calibration control. You will also be tasked with notifying errors in procedures, drawings, bills of material, and routers to the support teams, including Quality and Manufacturing Engineering. Completing documentation accurately and timely, entering data into the IFS system, and maintaining high-quality standards and workmanship are key responsibilities. Excellent communication and collaboration with all departments within the company are vital to ensure a safe working environment and to communicate any special tooling needs that may arise during operations. Responsibilities

  • Conduct procedural tests on production, engineering, and qualification products.
  • Understand and use all electrical, mechanical, and optical test equipment, test fixtures, and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot setup and product issues with minimal engineering support.
  • Maintain security for all quality verification equipment and its calibration control.
  • Notify errors on procedures, drawings, bills of material, and routers to support teams.
  • Complete documentation (shop packs and FATs) accurately and timely.
  • Enter data into the IFS system accurately and timely.
  • Maintain high quality standards and workmanship.
  • Maintain excellent communication and working relationships with all departments within the company.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Communicate special tooling needs for operations.

Requirements

  • Two year technical degree or equivalent military training or demonstrated job experience.
  • Recent experience in an electrical or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Recent experience in hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience handling fiber optic related products.
  • Ability to work safely with minimal or no direct supervision.
  • Ability to work with changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work from verbal directions.
  • Common sense approach to troubleshooting.
  • Ability to learn from peers.
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to use electrical and mechanical test equipment (e.g., Meggers, Ohm-meters, pressure gauges, dial calipers).
  • Able to read technical drawings and electrical schematics, specifications, and procedures.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to use optical test equipment.
  • Ability to take constructive criticism from peers, leads, and/or managers.
  • Good shop math skills.
