About the position
The Test System Engineer will lead the planning, test development, data definition, and task execution for products within the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG). This role involves writing clear test plans, leading a team of specialists, and ensuring product quality through verification and validation processes. The engineer will work with various data providers and sensor phenomenologies to assess product visual quality and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and development of test plans for new and existing products.
- Coordinate with a team of image scientists, analysts, photogrammetrists, and statisticians.
- Track issues and communicate status and results to stakeholders.
- Verify and validate product quality against requirements.
- Conduct independent testing and data verification.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-10 years of system engineering experience, including independent testing and data verification.
- Experience with sensor imaging systems and exploitation processes.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, particularly in briefing and report writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in remote sensing phenomenologies (EO/IR/SAR).
- Knowledge of NSG tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination (TCPED) image chain.
- Experience with product quality assessments, visual or metadata assessments.
