About the position

The Tester at Rigil Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of software products through comprehensive testing and validation processes. This position involves developing and executing test plans, collaborating with development teams, and communicating project statuses to management. The Tester will work with various technologies and methodologies to maintain high standards of software quality, contributing to the overall success of the company's technology consulting and product development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in release and test planning.
  • Develops release test plans.
  • Develops and executes test artifacts (automated, manual, or both) based on functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Reviews test artifacts prepared by others.
  • Collaborates with the system development team to ensure software quality.
  • Provides management with project status updates and outstanding issues.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains information systems utilizing Services Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Ensures compliance with project and agency standards, including ISO 20000 and ISO 9000:2001.
  • Oversees quality assurance activities associated with software development.
  • Develops test plans, performs exploratory testing, and executes functional and regression testing.
  • Works closely with engineering, product management, and support teams to prepare products for release.
  • Pulls Product Backlog Items (PBIs) from Azure DevOps for QC testing.
  • Logs bugs in Azure DevOps for developers to address.
  • Creates Test Plan checklist and Test Results document.
  • Creates test cases in Azure DevOps for user stories and performs testing to verify acceptance criteria.
  • Performs integration and system testing and prepares test data.
  • Notifies customer and support team when changes are ready for UAT and supports UAT.
  • Submits test plan and test results to the customer and support team for approval.
  • Performs production rehearsal testing prior to production releases.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree.
  • At least three years of progressive experience in the validation of software systems.
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst or Advanced Level Technical Test Analyst certification.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or under general direction.
  • Experience in analysis of functional and non-functional requirements to identify potential tests.
  • Experience in development and execution of test artifacts in manual and automated testing tools.
