About the position
Goodwill South Florida is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Textile Grader. This entry-level role involves sorting, grading, and handling donated textiles while adhering to production quotas to support Goodwill's mission of reducing waste and promoting sustainability. The position plays a key part in the recycling and repurposing of textiles, helping divert materials from landfills and supporting our community-based programs. Opportunity for progression to Textile Grader II and Textile Grader III positions based upon successfully meeting job requirements of this position.
Responsibilities
- Sort and grade donated textiles according to established standards.
- Handle textiles safely and efficiently to meet production quotas.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working with textiles and related equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to be trained and take direction.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to distinguish between different grades of textiles.
- Ability to meet production quotas and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols for handling textiles and related equipment.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift textiles throughout the workday (up to 50 lbs).
- Good English communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
