About the position

The Industrial Engineer - Summer Vacation Replacement is a temporary position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency of manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for overseeing both direct and indirect labor, as well as activities that impact line speed, cycle checks, scrolls, workstation assignments, change control, and line balancing. The selected candidate will be expected to utilize lean manufacturing concepts to identify and eliminate waste, thereby enhancing productivity and efficiency within the manufacturing environment. Additionally, the role involves performing time and motion studies to analyze and improve operational workflows. In this position, the Industrial Engineer will work closely with the IE Manager and IE Supervisor, providing technical services that are essential for maintaining optimal levels of lean manufacturing and staffing. The candidate will be expected to interface with various levels of the organization, from shop floor employees to management, ensuring that communication is clear and effective. This role requires a self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Industrial Engineer will also be responsible for documenting processes and findings, which will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization. The ability to coach, mentor, or develop team members is a preferred qualification, as this will help foster a culture of learning and improvement within the team. Responsibilities

  • Oversee direct and indirect labor activities affecting line speed and cycle checks.
  • Manage workstation assignments and change control processes.
  • Perform line balancing to optimize production efficiency.

  • Conduct time and motion studies to analyze operational workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or working towards a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related technical field.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization from shop floor to management.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
