About the position

At The Monument, our Operations Technicians are the essential team members who ensure that our facility is ready for a variety of events, including concerts, plays, conventions, and sporting events. This role involves performing all aspects of event preparation and tear-down, which includes setting up and dismantling equipment such as hockey dasher boards, basketball floors, stages, bleachers, and portable walls. The Operations Technicians are responsible for maintaining a user-friendly environment by conducting regular cleaning and sanitation of the facility, ensuring that it is always ready for the next event. This position requires teamwork and the ability to follow directions effectively, as shifts may vary and include evenings and weekends based on event needs. In addition to event setup and teardown, the Operations Technicians perform custodial duties, which include sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors, cleaning restrooms, washing walls and windows, vacuuming carpets, and managing trash disposal. They also engage in building maintenance tasks using both hand and power tools, and grounds maintenance, which involves picking up trash, snow removal, and lawn care. The role may also require operating various equipment, such as Zambonis, forklifts, airlifts, and power scrubbers. The Operations Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring that The Monument provides a memorable experience for all guests by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform event preparation and tear-down duties including installing and removing hockey dasher, basketball floor, panels, stages, bleachers, and portable walls.
  • Place and remove carpeting, tables, and chairs.
  • Set stage, sound wings, and mixing platforms according to production rider and setup requirements.
  • Perform building custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors; cleaning restrooms; washing walls and windows; vacuuming carpets; and emptying trash receptacles.
  • Perform building maintenance duties using hand and power tools.
  • Conduct grounds maintenance by picking up trash, removing snow from walkways and parking areas, spreading ice melting materials, and mowing and trimming grass.
  • Operate various equipment including Zamboni, forklift, airlift, or power scrubbers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older with a High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Commercial maintenance and cleaning experience preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience deemed appropriate to fulfill the role and responsibilities of this position will be considered.
  • A valid driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days from the date of hire is preferred.
