About the position

The Global Senior Designer - Performance Apparel at The North Face is responsible for enhancing the performance and aesthetic of the brand's apparel through innovative design solutions. This role involves collaborating with the Performance Apparel design team to integrate new innovations into global apparel design, focusing on both seasonal products and advanced concepts. The designer will engage with market trends, customer feedback, and cross-functional teams to create high-quality performance apparel that meets the needs of outdoor enthusiasts.

Responsibilities

• Push the performance and aesthetic of The North Face Global Apparel through performance-first design solutions.
• Work with the Performance Apparel design team to build new innovations into global apparel design.
• Drive seasonal trend and technical research.
• Present design work to cross-functional teams and management in a professional manner.
• Create new product franchise design DNA in line with Performance Apparel Design guidelines or enhance existing franchises.
• Collaborate with athletes and gather consumer feedback to improve products.
• Partner with the Materials team to develop and source relevant fabrics and trims.
• Use Illustrator to create design tech packs and hand over tech-packs to the TD team on time.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in athletic/outdoor/sportswear apparel design across genders.
• Working knowledge of apparel construction with flat sketching and illustrating expertise.
• Hands-on experience with Adobe creative suite CAD software.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in creating tech packs.
• Experience with developing performance materials, trims, and color palettes.
• Proficient communication skills with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Understanding of product cycles and core deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using 3D software (Browzwear) is a plus.
