About the position

The Construction Scheduler 1 is responsible for developing and maintaining master schedules for construction projects, ensuring that all work is sequenced appropriately. This role involves evaluating actual construction progress, providing regular updates, and assisting project managers in addressing scheduling issues. The position requires coordination with various engineering disciplines and administrative functions to ensure project timelines are met.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in creating short-term schedules and monitor their impact on the master schedule.
  • Coordinate with parallel activities within the firm including Engineering disciplines and office administrative functions.
  • Contribute to the development of working schedules that illustrate the sequence of work activities and contract time.
  • Provide information on the content, modification, or presentation of project schedules as needed.
  • Incorporate resource and/or cost loading data into schedules as required.
  • Appraise project cost and schedule performance for all assigned projects.
  • Status, update, and report on all project activities.
  • Integrate Subcontractor's schedules into the master schedule.
  • Report and analyze schedule variances against baselines.
  • Appraise contract progress relative to the schedule and report results to the Project Manager.
  • Review, upgrade, and approve the Subcontractor's schedule control plan.
  • Ensure the Subcontractors' schedule and cost forecast are in alignment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar technical field, or two or more years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer aptitude with knowledge of construction scheduling software such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, and Sure Track.
  • Understanding of design timelines and various types of scheduling systems (Gantt, Pert & CPM principles).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors.
