About the position

The Progress is seeking an Assistant General Manager with a wine focus to support the General Manager in overseeing nightly service and daily operations. This role will also assist the Beverage Director with all aspects of the wine program, ensuring an excellent guest experience and maintaining a strong reputation in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in overseeing nightly service and daily operations.
• Assist the Beverage Director with all aspects of the wine program.
• Maintain a dynamic wine list and educate the team on wine service.
• Provide guests with the best possible service and experience.
• Ensure efficient and safe work practices during service.

Requirements

• Strong sense of warmth and hospitality.
• Sincere desire to provide guests with the best possible service and experience.
• Interest and pride in learning about food, wine, and beer.
• Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and clear communication skills.
• Physical stamina: ability to lift up to 50 pounds and walk up to 5 miles per evening, including stairs.
• Previous management experience and passion for wine is preferred.
