About the position

The Theater Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting U.S. Army operations by refining and implementing theater movement and operations strategies for a dispersed workforce in an OCONUS location. This position involves providing administrative and operational support to ensure effective execution of movement and contingency plans, enhancing security assistance and cooperation activities, and facilitating communication between various teams and U.S. Government entities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist a DoD client in refining and implementing a comprehensive theater movement and operations strategy.
  • Provide varying levels of support to customer support, process improvement, and operations as a Theater Operational Manager.
  • Ensure excellent support of teams, systems, programs, and hardware for day-to-day operations.
  • Perform a wide range of administrative and office support tasks for the department and managers.
  • Oversee the execution of client current movement and contingency plans and day-to-day operations.
  • Analyze outcomes from security assistance engagements.
  • Establish movement operating procedures and conduct in-country coordination for facilities and support.
  • Communicate with forward entities and support crisis-action duties.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience establishing and maintaining client or in-country relationships, security assistance, and security cooperation.
  • 2+ years of experience acting as a liaison between the operations team and other teams in the organization.
  • Knowledge of operational improvement plans.
  • Ability to be flexible, exercise initiative, innovate, and convert poorly defined problems into practical solutions.
  • Ability to succeed in an ambiguous and fast-paced international environment with culturally diverse groups.
  • Ability to prepare and modify documents, including correspondence, drafts, and emails.
  • Ability to maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems.
  • Ability to install, configure, and operate workstation, telephony, video, and mobile hardware and software.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience with operations support management, or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience with operations support management.
