About the position

The Los Gatos Theatre Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations at the Los Gatos Theatre, ensuring superior guest service and effective team management. This role involves hiring, training, and developing staff while managing the theater's budget and sales goals. The manager will work closely with the Area Director and Operations Team to maintain operational standards and enhance the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Offer superior guest service according to established standards and practices.
  • Provide coverage and assistance in the areas of concessions, box office, café, and other guest service responsibilities as needed.
  • Inspire, coach, and motivate team members to deliver a remarkable unmatched overall entertainment experience through direct oversight.
  • Guide and encourage theater team members to maximize their personal growth and development.
  • Oversee all theater departmental functions and other duties as assigned with the guidance of the Operations Team.
  • Hire, train, retain, and develop team members to cultivate a strategic team environment that provides exceptional guest service.
  • Communicate with the Area Director and Operations Team on staffing needs and hiring programs.
  • Lead in the execution of all staff and manager training programs, ensuring timely completion of communications, documentations, and evaluations.
  • Promote positive employee relations, effective delegation of managerial duties, and uphold operational standards.
  • Manage annual budget and business plan to meet targeted financial performance, setting sales goals for concessions and café.
  • Ensure kitchen operating standards are met through facility maintenance, adequate staffing, and training of kitchen staff members.
  • Capitalize on business opportunities in the market area by executing company marketing strategies to drive sales.
  • Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks, and movies in an ideal environment.
  • Ensure a well-maintained, safe, secure, and sanitary environment for all CineLux Theatres guests and staff.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED; undergraduate degree in hospitality or restaurant management preferred.
  • 1 or more years of progressive growth and management experience at CineLux Theatres or 2 or more years in high volume and/or multi-unit theater, retail or restaurant operations or other related management experience.
  • Working knowledge of all theater functions, including projection equipment, food and beverage operations, and facility services.
  • Outgoing, positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with the public and the theater team.
  • Demonstrates team management, delegation, issue resolution, coaching skills, and ability to motivate others.
  • Excellent leadership, training, and development skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates organization and multi-project time/issue management and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Outstanding ability to listen, communicate, and work effectively with guests in high stress and high volume settings.
  • Computer literate (Windows, Microsoft Office, internet) with the ability to learn and train others in the use of new technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Restaurant management or food service experience preferred.
  • California Food Manager Certification.
  • Proficiency at all workstations in the kitchen.
  • Complete knowledge of theater menu.
  • Prior experience with point-of-sale cash handling systems preferred.
