About the position

The Assistant Director (Transfer Pathways) at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is responsible for overseeing the implementation of policies related to the Texas Transfer Framework. This role involves managing committees focused on transfer initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating communication among stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transfer processes, stakeholder engagement, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of policy related to the Texas Transfer Framework across the state of Texas.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including institutional leadership and faculty on transfer-related issues in higher education.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of transfer policies to ensure they meet agency goals and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee committees and subcommittees dedicated to transfer policy planning and implementation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all transfer-related inquiries and respond in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal departments, external organizations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate policy changes and updates effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Work with the division of Data Management and Research to collect and analyze data related to transfer processes.
  • Prepare and present reports on transfer policy effectiveness and committee outcomes.
  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops to educate staff and stakeholders on transfer policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience with transfer or student success at a public institution or system of higher education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working within the Texas transfer landscape.
  • Experience managing committees or facilitating group discussions.
  • Experience working with faculty at a public institution or system of higher education.
  • Experience with curriculum design.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects or initiatives.
  • Proficiency in data presentation, analysis or reporting.
