About the position

Hickok Cole is seeking a creative and motivated Interior Designer with 2-5 years of experience in highly creative projects, including television/movie set design, commercial, or hospitality projects. The role involves transforming heavily themed concept designs into reality, collaborating with a team, and working independently in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Washington, DC, with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong design concepts in collaboration with the Director.
  • Accurately document design concepts in presentations and construction documents.
  • Create concept ideation, renderings, and custom product finishes.
  • Select furniture and design custom furniture.
  • Plan spaces and curate art for projects.
  • Coordinate with consultants on material selections and codes.
  • Manage FF&E specifications and large size projects.
  • Travel out-of-state as needed for project requirements.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in creative projects, including set design and hospitality.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Excellent 3D graphic rendering skills.
  • Experience with custom fabrication and technological sophistication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Valid work permit (USA).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with design-build projects or large HQ projects.
  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation.
  • Progress towards NCIDQ Certification or Architectural Licensure.
