About the position

The Therapeutic Day Treatment Counselor at Accent Group and Family Services is responsible for providing counseling and educational services within a school setting. This role involves developing, coordinating, and implementing treatment goals for clients, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and facilitating support groups. The counselor will also build partnerships with community organizations and school personnel to enhance client support.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operations for assigned group of clients
• Implement Behavior Modification System
• Complete all required documentation including tracking individualized behavior programs and progress notes
• Maintain weekly contact with clients' primary caregivers and school personnel
• Attend school meetings upon approval of Clinical staff
• Attend monthly meetings with Clinical staff for supervision and chart audits
• Establish working relationships with representatives of other agencies
• Assist in the referral process for each client
• Provide transportation for clients using company vehicles as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a human services field
• One year successful work experience providing mental health services or special education to individuals with developmental disabilities
• Registered as QMHP-C or T with the VA Board of Counseling
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to work on call as needed
