About the position

The Therapeutic Program Worker (TPW) role at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center involves providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The TPW assists residents in daily living skills, promotes independence, and implements active treatment activities tailored to each individual's needs. This position offers both full-time and part-time shifts, with opportunities for bonuses and pay increases over time.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living skills such as eating, bathing, and personal hygiene.
• Implement active treatment activities including gym, pavilion, and pool sessions.
• Assist with planning and shopping activities for residents.
• Complete daily and monthly documentation, including incident reports.
• Perform light housekeeping duties in living areas.
• Redirect unsafe actions to promote positive outcomes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with less than 6 points.
• No prior experience required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in direct support or direct care roles.
• Knowledge of behavioral health practices.
