About The Position

The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist position at Mosaic Life Care involves planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities for patients in the Mental Health Unit. Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in therapeutic recreation or a recreation degree with a therapeutic emphasis.
• Eligibility for certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
• Must obtain CTRS certification within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of a full-time ten-week clinical internship program.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and coordinate recreational activities for patients.
• Interview, assess, and develop treatment plans for patients.
• Reassess and modify treatment plans in compliance with regulations.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team care planning.
• Provide group and individual treatment services according to established plans.
• Maintain documentation of services provided and enter progress notes in patient records.
• Write discharge summaries for each patient.
• Maintain activity supplies and equipment, ensuring safety in their use.
• Make supplies and equipment accessible for patients' leisure pursuits.
