About the position

The Therapy Program Manager / Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for managing and administering rehabilitation services within the Long Term Care division. This role involves maintaining a clinical caseload while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Program Manager serves as an advocate and mentor to interdisciplinary team members, promoting superior clinical and fiscal integrity. The position also includes marketing responsibilities and participation in community events to enhance therapy services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clinical caseload.
  • Demonstrates strong clinical knowledge and understands the role of rehabilitation for all clinical disciplines and product lines within the Assisted Living, Independent Living and CCRC settings.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal, State and Local laws, rules and regulations related to therapy service delivery.
  • Assesses data reflective of the resident's status and provides age-specific care according to department policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a safe, orderly and goal-directed work environment for self and the therapy team.
  • Acts as a liaison between HealthPRO-Heritage management, Home Health, Hospice and community administration.
  • Integrates clinical programs and addresses community-specific needs related to marketing.
  • Participates in community-based committees to promote clinical programs and marketing goals.
  • Implements Quality Improvement Programs.
  • Facilitates open communication in patient care meetings while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provides education to community members, healthcare providers, and residents regarding therapy services.
  • Plans, schedules, coordinates and directs rehabilitation services for the department.
  • Determines staffing needs and assists with recruiting and interviewing as needed.
  • Promotes positive employee relations through open communication and problem-solving.
  • Conducts performance appraisals of rehabilitation personnel and collaborates on goal setting.
  • Oversees documentation audits to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Monitors personnel compliance standards and assists in corrective actions when needed.
  • Investigates and resolves staff, service, and resident-related issues.
  • Develops special programs for resident participation in therapy activities.
  • Provides leadership and directly manages clinical therapy staff.
  • Communicates non-compliance to appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Works with residents who are severely physically, emotionally, and cognitively compromised.
  • Maintains a safe environment and complies with infection control and OSHA standards.
  • Responds appropriately in emergency or disaster situations.
  • Participates in open communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Prepares and submits reports in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in an allied health field, Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree or a Master's Degree.
  • Valid state professional licensure.
  • Ongoing continuing education and professional development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in marketing and business acumen in a healthcare setting.
