About the position
As a Furnace Operator at Solar Atmospheres, you will be responsible for carrying out vacuum heat treating and brazing services for various industries, including aerospace and medical devices. This role requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to work independently on multiple projects. Extensive training will be provided, allowing you to grow within the company while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Planning and changing out furnace loads and packing all orders
- Operating furnaces and other shop equipment
- Maintaining clean and orderly work areas
- Following project instructions and completing all customer labeling and packaging requirements
- Configuring and monitoring settings on programs, recorders, and vacuum gauges
- Working efficiently while ensuring company quality standards are maintained
- Utilizing a forklift and overhead crane as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Basic math skills
- Reliable and organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods of time
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or heat treatment is a plus but willing to train
- Forklift and Overhead Crane experience/licensure a plus
